                        MEN’S AUXILIARY MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

Men’s Auxiliary Members,

We had 9 members present for our July meeting; the initial gathering conducted by
new (and former) President Richard (Red) Sulier.  We look forward to a satisfying
year under Red’s direction.  As always, we continue to encourage ours members to
attend the meetings if able.

We were informed of a new member, Robert Boes, to the Men’s Auxiliary.  Please
welcome Robert to our organization the next time you see him.

The current Lucky 100 Raffle concludes Friday, July 11, at 7:00pm at the Post with
the finishing $500 prize being award to one lucky ticket holder.  Tickets are available
to purchase for the next version of the raffle beginning Friday, September 12 and
continuing for 10 consecutive weeks.  As the summer weather transitions to autumn,
this is a good opportunity to come out and enjoy food, fun and camaraderie with
fellow auxiliary and Post members.

A planning committee meeting will take place Friday, July 11th at the Post.  Red will
attend on our behalf to discuss upcoming events hosted by both auxiliaries and the
Post.

Tickets are free and there are sign-up sheets in the Kennedy Room for both of the
following events with a limited number still available as of this writing:  1) Race Night
at the Toledo Speedway, Friday, July 18th.  Some members attending will meet at
the Post at 6:00pm with the race commencing at 7:30pm.  2) Toledo Mud Hens
baseball game, Thursday, August 7 at 7pm.  We usually meet at the Post around
5pm and get a bite to eat somewhere close to the stadium before the game.  As
always, these are open to any interested Post or auxiliary members.

John Cousino presented information on our 2nd Annual Golf Scrambles event.  The
date is Saturday, September 13 at the Tamaron Country Club in Toledo with a
shotgun start beginning at 8am.  The cost is only $50/person which includes 18
holes, cart, and a steak dinner immediately following at the Post.  Please see the
flier
as well as information on
hole sponsorships on the Post’s website.   More info to
follow in next month’s newsletter….

Please save the dates for the annual Halloween (Oct 25) and Christmas (Dec 6)
Parties.

There was a discussion regarding the option of purchasing lifetime Men’s Auxiliary
memberships.  More detailed information will be presented at the August meeting.
We agreed to donate $200 to a college scholarship fund sponsored by the American
Legion Post in Temperance.  We also agreed to donate up to $500 to be used for
building amenities and maintenance supplies for the Post, with John Conley taking
the lead on this.

Please visit the Post’s website, www.erievfw.com, for other information, calendar of
events, and to review the Post and Ladies Auxiliary newsletters.

We always welcome new members, if you know of anyone interested in joining the
Auxiliary, there are application forms in the Kennedy Room, or please see me or
President Red Sulier.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday August 14th at 7pm at the Post on Erie
Rd.

Respectfully submitted,
Mark A. Dusseau, Secretary, VFW Post 3925 Men’s Auxiliary
