Hello Members,

Our September meeting is the first meeting of “The Auxiliary”, our new name.  As of
August 21st 2015, as a result of changes made at the VFW National Convention, the
bylaws have been changed to include male spouses and family members to join the
Auxiliary.  Males who wish to join will be required to fill out a membership application
and provide proof of eligibility and then be voted on by the auxiliary.

Kay Lynch, Veteran and family support chairman, is putting together a box to send
out to our servicemen and women.  Please bring items you want to send to the next
meeting.  They enjoy toiletries like hotel soap and shampoo, jerky, baby wipes,
candy if it isn’t chocolate, and microwave popcorn, to name a few ideas.

Mary Joly, Americanism and Patriotic Instructor, donated 2 3x5 flags to St. Joe’s
Cemetery and the 40 & 8 Train.

Dawn Shock, legislative chairman, is organizing a tour of the Capital with Dale Zorn
on October 27th.  She is working on the time. If you are interested give her a call.

Lorissa Elinski, Camp Trotter Chairman, is asking for new or slightly used items for
silver dollar table at the fall conference.  She also nominated me for a Camp Trotter
life membership! Thanks all!!

Grace Connolly and Darlene Andrzgiewski, Scholarship and Youth Activities
Chairmen, announced the names of the winners of the Post and Auxiliaries
scholarships.  Mary Whitt sponsored by Mike and Sharon Grodi, Amanda Reeves,
sponsored by Darlene Andrzgiewski, and Krystal Dazey sponsored by Kathleen Judy.

The next meeting in October will be our inspection by District 6.  We are asking that
you bring in appetizers for after the meeting.

Sue Topher and Peggy Dusseau are planning a clean-up day at the post on
September 26.  We will be cleaning the tables and chairs in the hall and other
things.  Food will be provided to the workers.

Jan Dusseau reported on the birthday cake party at Vibrant Life nursing home last
month.  Mary Joly and her husband attended.  They served 13 veterans cake.  This
is done on the last Friday of the month.

We draped our charter for 2 members last month, Lorene Roberts and Rita Belair.
Rest in Peace sisters!

Good Job to all in our hard working Auxiliay!!!!
