Hello Ladies, May 13, 2015
We had a good meeting in May with 19 members present. We installed the officers
and had our memorial service for our members who are deceased.
Our Memorial Day service will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery at 11:30am, with a pot
luck at the VFW Post afterwards.
Lorissa Elinski, Camp Trotter Chair, reports that we will have a drawing for a child
we will be sending to Camp Trotter this summer. Please submit any children or
grandchildren who are between the ages of 7 and 12 if you would like them to
receive a free week at camp. There will be a family day at Camp on August 22nd.
Our Craft and Vendor show will be October 17th 2015. The booths are $30.00 and
$40.00 for a corner booth. Electrical is available for $5.00. There are 23 spaces for
rent. Please contact Crystal Shiffert if you or someone you know is interested. Her

The Men’s Auxiliary is having their 3rd Annual Golf outing on August 22nd at 8:00
a.m., at Tamaron Country Club on Alexis Road in Toledo. The cost is $55.00 which
includes 18 holes of golf, cart, and steak dinner back at the VFW Post. If you are a
non-golfer and wish to purchase the steak or chicken dinner, it is $12.00. You can
pick up a form at The Jeweling Shop in Erie for a foursome or if you want to sponsor

Our penny raffle is over and we had a profit of $556.85. The quilt raffle is still on
and will be drawn on Memorial Day. Please get your tickets.
The Men’s Auxiliary have started up another Lucky 100 at the post. Even if you do
not have a ticket come and enjoy the luncheon and visiting with other members.
The Recognition dinner was a big success. 94 were served including 24 free tickets
to those receiving awards. Thanks to all who donated and volunteered their time
and hard work!
Sharon Grodi, Membership Chair, suggests that we ask a person each month if they
would like to join the Auxiliary, we need new members!
April Killian, Hospital Chair, is accepting donations. This helps with the bingo party at
the VA hospital in Ann Arbor.
Kay Lynch, Veterans and Family Support Chair, is working on the Buddy Poppy
program this month. By the time you read this she will have been selling poppies at
local businesses. This helps our Veterans relief fund. Please make a donation.
Mary Joly, Americanism Chair, reminds us to fly our flags on Holidays, especially this
