Hello Ladies, May 15, 2014
It is hard to believe that last night’s meeting completes another year as president
for me. It’s been a pleasure and honor to lead the way. We have such a great
group of auxiliary members and hard workers. Thank you for this opportunity.
Kay Lynch has organized everything for the Buddy Poppy drive on the 16th and
17th. We have permission at three locations, so this should be a good year for us.
Diane LaPlante distributed flyers for a fundraiser for the Brancheau family. She will
be collecting kitchen items at the June meeting. Cancer Guide Sheets were handed
April Killian received a “thank you” from the Ann Arbor VA hospital.
Dawn Shock is continuously working on the scrapbook. Please print photos for her.
Congrats to Dawn for she is our District 6 Jr. Vice President ! !
Grace Connolly announced 2, $100 scholarships and the Citizenship Citations will be
awarded tomorrow night at the Mason High School Honors Banquet. Final plans
were discussed for the Graduation Breakfast, Sunday, May 18.
On behalf of the auxiliary, I would like to express how proud we are that the former
South Erie Park is being re-named to the Grace F. Connolly Park. The dedication
was held on Sunday, May 18.
Our yearly Memorial Services was held at the meeting. It was nice to see new
people coming to the meeting. It’s hard hearing the names of our departed sisters,
but we get through with your support. So thanks for being there.
Note to all chairman: Please forward copies of your quarterly reports to me. You
are also responsible to keep a copy for your records. These can be destroyed in 6
Installation of officers was conducted. The new 2014/15 officers are: Marjorie
Terry, President; Dawn Shock, Sr. Vice President; Sheila Santure, Jr. Vice; Jan
Locy, Secretary; Lu Anne DuVall, Treasurer; Stephannie Cherry, Conductress;
Kathy Judy, Guard; April Killian, Chaplain. Please join in with me to welcome them.
The post members will honor Wendel Cousino, Memorial Day, St. Joseph cemetery,
11:00 am. Wendel Cousino was a World War II veteran. His brother, Lee Cousino, is
a past commander of our post. A potluck will be held following the services at the
post. Everyone is welcome.
In closing, I would like to will my invisible gavel to Marji, so she can use it at all her
meetings next year.
