Our October meeting was well attended with 27 members present! We installed a
new member Susan LeBlanc! We also voted in 3 other new members including our
first male members, Aaron Green, Norman Fortner, and Nancy Morley, welcome to
you all!! Let’s keep this new member trend going!!!
Kay Lynch, Veteran and family support chairman, explained the MAP program to us,
Military Assistance Program. It is our hope that we will be able to get a grant to
help us with the money to send the care packages to the servicemen and women.
Mary Joly, Americanism and Patriotic Instructor, reminds us that Veterans Day is
coming up soon. Please do not forget to thank the people in your own family who
Dawn Shock, legislative chairman, is organizing a tour of the Capital with Dale Zorn
on October 27th. If you are interested give her a call.
Lorissa Elinski, Camp Trotter Chairman, let us know that the silver dollar table did
very well at the Fall Conference. She is expecting there will be another at the Mid-
Winter Conference. Thanks to all who donated!
Grace Connolly and Darlene Andrzgiewski, Scholarship and Youth Activities
Chairmen, say that the teacher of the year will be announced at the School Board
meeting on Monday the 19th at 7:00pm. They will announce the winner at the
Veteran’s Day Program November 11th.
Sue Topher and Peggy Dusseau had a very successful cleaning day! Thanks to all
who showed up to help. All the chairs and tables were scrubbed and the ceiling fans
cleaned along with the coach lights and mirrors! The place looks great!!
Jan Dusseau reports that the birthday cake party at Vibrant Life nursing home is
done on the last Friday of the month.
We draped our charter for one of our members, Jeanne Denko, we will miss you!
We are helping the Post with the Veteran’s Day Dinner on November 7th. We need
people to help on the 6th to get the tables decorated. We are asking members to
bring appetizers for this event and we will be making the punch. Please come and
thank a Vet!!
