June 4, 2014                                Next meeting July 2, 2014                                                              

The June 4, 2014 meeting Opened at 7:00 P.M. with 18 members present, 6 of them Past  
commanders.  Some important issues were taken care of as we are going into the start of
the 2014-2015 year.

Guest Dan Dusseau , of the Men's Aux, spoke of a fund raiser for Mark LaPoint to cover his
medical expenses, from an auto accident.  He asked for a donation from the post.

Service Officer Ed Simpson reported things are still good at the V.A. Hospital.

A motion was made and seconded to donate $200.00 to the 40 and 8th Nurses Scholarship

June 14 a Swan Food Truck will be at the First Presbyterian Church of LaSalle , 13007 S.
Dixie Hwy. LaSalle, proceeds from sales will go to the family of Russell Brancheau III, who
lost their home to a fire.             

A letter was read from Senior Vice James Cherry submitted May 19, 2014, stating he is
resigning from the Senior Vice position and withdrew his nomination for 2014-2015

Comrade Mike Santure was nominated, elected and installed to serve as Commander for
the 2014-2015 year. Please congratulate Mike and let's ALL give him ALL the support we
can for his record breaking  5th term as Post Commander.

Incoming officers Senior Vice Terry Rollins, Junior Vice Larry Chambers, Quartermaster Kelli
Chambers, Chaplain Roger Williams, Post Advocate Chris Stark, 1st year Trustee Floyd
Martin, 2nd year Trustee Tom Merce and 3rd year Trustee Don Ellison were Installed into
their offices, by Past Commander Frank Cousino.  

May 14, 2014 Cub Scout Troop 720 helped Post Members place American Flags on Veteran's
graves at  3 local cemeteries, in preparation for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

This will be my last News Letter so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone
from the Post, Ladies Aux. and Men's Aux. who helped me perform the duties of
Commander this past year.  It's been an experience I will not soon forget.

Looking forward to seeing you at our July 2, 2014 meeting.
