Comrades,

We had 18 members at May’s meeting, 9 of them were past commanders. The meetings
usually are not too long (this one was only 40 minutes).  We spend more time sitting around
talking afterwards. It would be nice to see some new faces so try to make one in the near
future.

Our incoming Jr. Vice brought goulash, garlic bread and salad to share after the meeting.  It
was very good and much appreciated.  THANKS TOM!

The new officers that were installed will officially take over their duties when the state
officers are installed on June 6th.  Past Commander Bob Lapointe was the installation
officer.

Memorial Day is the 25th.  Services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery at 11:30.  This year
we will be holding the services at the gravesite of WWll veteran Robert Lapointe,
grandfather of past commander Bob Lapointe.  Wear your uniforms if you have them, if not
show up anyway we usually need firing squad members.  Let’s try to have a good turnout.
We will be going back to the post afterwards for a cookout.

On May 23rd we will be putting flags out at the 3 cemeteries in Erie.  If you would like to
help be at the post around 8:45.  On the following Saturday, the 30th we will be picking
them up.  Once again be at the post around 8:45.

We will be selling poppies the weekend of the 15th.  We always are short of help. If you
would like to help please contact Tom Merce, Joe Joly or Jim Lynch for exact time and dates.

A free trip to Camp Trotter will be given to a child between 7 & 12 yrs.  Forms will be in the
Kennedy room. Member’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are eligible.

June will be my last meeting so let’s have a big turnout to let me know how glad you are to
be getting rid of me.  I’ll buy the drinks afterwards.

Hope to see you June 3rd.
