February 5, 2014 Next Meeting March 5, 2014
The February 5 meeting was rescheduled to February 6 due to the bad weather. The
meeting opened at 7: 00 P.M. with 13 members present 3 of them Past Commanders. It
was a productive meeting, several issues were discussed.
Vice Commander Dick Brazeau gave a report on the Muskrat Dinner,after expenses we did
show a profit. Thanks to all volunteers who helped to make this dinner a success. Thanks
also to four volunteers from Monroe Bank & Trust's Enlist Program for selling 50/50 and Pig
raffle tickets. When you get a chance patronize and thank the businesses and people who
donated gifts and money to help make this event a success. The food served was , in my
opinion, EXCELLENT. This year we did have several lady diners who enjoyed DELICACIES
Senior Vice Commander Jim Cherry did announce the Gun Raffle Tickets are ready and
being sold, contact him at 419-705-4634 or ask a member at the Post.
A motion was made and seconded to make a donation to the family of Russell Brancheau lll,
who lost their home to a fire. Russell is preparing to make a deployment to Afghanistan.
A Blood Drive is scheduled for February 17, 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., if you can donate blood
or volunteer time please call me.
February 8th Sheila Santure, Dawn Shock, Grace Conolly and I attended the District 6
Meeting, in Lansing, to accept the award for Michael Moss, winner of the Patriot's Pen
award and Terrance Davison, winner of Teacher of the Year award, both of them are from
Mason School. Congratulations to both of them.
This Michigan Winter still has us in it's grip so be extra careful walking and driving on
sidewalks and streets. Also don't over exert yourself moving that BEAUTIFUL WHITE
FLUFFY STUFF that keeps falling from the sky. Frostbite is more common in February than in
August, bundle Up when going outside.
