October 5, 2013                                                 Next meeting November 6, 2013

Our October 2nd meeting got started on time, we had 18 members present, 8 of them past
Commanders. Some new information was passed along and some Old Business was

Service Officer Ed Simpson informed us the V. A. Hospital now has a golf cart to transport
patients to and from the parking lot.  I'm sure this winter it will get plenty of use.

Comrade Jim Cherry had a sample Logo, for the shirt he is designing, to show the
membership. Jim will have a sample shirt and order forms at our next meeting.

The September 22 Car Show was a success, good weather, a good turn out of people with
their cars, some nice door prizes and 50/50 drawings. Some of the post members had
some very nice cars to show, makes me wish I would have kept a couple of the first cars
I owned. Thank Bob Lapoint, post members and members of the Ladies and Men's Aux. for
all their efforts to make the first Car Show one to remember.

Erie Mason Eagles have 2 more home football games October 11 and October 18.  We raise
the Flag at 7:00 P.M., come join us, wear your uniform cap and blue jacket.

Mark Monday October 21 on your calendar, the Ladies Aux. is sponsoring a Blood Drive
From 2:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M.

Comrades, in honoring a Veteran who has passed away by participating in their military
funeral, we are fulfilling our obligation to them and their families. As fellow veterans it is
our proud and solemn duty to do so! We have lost several of our participating members to
age, disabilities and personal problems, so we need to replace them. The post will
contribute part of the cost for shirts and coats and all of the cost for patches and pins. Give
me a call for information and details.

If you know a Serviceman or Woman who is either going to or returning from an overseas
assignment or if you have a message to be posted on the marques, leave me a message on
my home phone 734-242-8045.

Looking forward to seeing you at our November 6 meeting.
